Thanks Thor! Does it matter what year of Aspen/Volare? Excuse me, I'm a Newbie, but who is MiDi? |

Wouldnt the Aspen/Volare pipe have a space for the catalitic converter and not work with the earlier (74 and older) A bodies? Please let me know I would like a simple swap to upgrade my exaust also. |

Speaking of better flowing exhaust... I rigged up a 2.25" side pipe with a cherry bomb exiting behind the drivers side passenger door (4 door hard top). The tone is a bit harsh for daily driving but when im in 3rd gear going 70mph up a hill it picks up speed like never before. |

Quote: You can still buy brand new a 2.25" manifold pipe for an Aspen/Volare that should fit right under the hood of your '72.
Mmmm...nope! The F-body headpipe configuration is totally different from the A-body headpipe. Remember, the F-body headpipe snakes under the oil pan, across to the passenger side of the car and rearward from there. The A-body headpipe does a couple of bends and zags down and rearward without crossing over to the other side of the car. But you can cut the top seven-eight inches off an F-body headpipe, bolt it to the exhaust manifold, and have an exhaust shop weld on from there (that is if your shop can't manage to put together a 2ΒΌ" headpipe and flange...which if they can't, you might should think about using a different exhaust shop! ![]() They are pretty cheap from what I remember. Contact MiDi for more info... he is the one who showed it to me. From there, use a magnaflow. I've run a 50 series flowmaster with 2.25" and it sounded nice, not loud by any means, however, all flowmasters and knock-offs can produce quite a drone around 60 mph. Just watch out for MiDi's 64 GT, he's got a helluva fart can stashed under his rear bumper. ~THOR~[/quote] |
