Gentleman, Thank you for all your replies. Timing chain situation seemed ok. Finally found problem: one of my two wires coming out of distributor had worn thru the rubber bushing and was arcing to distributor ground.. Has anyone else ever seen this before? 3 weeks of on-off searching with a total investment of like $22. Guess thats better than a 3 day repair on my VW that costs $1700. LOL. Thanks to all of you again. dave |
