You can do a single to the muffler, then use a dual outlet muffler for the dual look at half the pipes. I think soemone posted a picture of a set up like this a while back.

Thats what I was going to do, but there is not enough room under my car.

When I get the Val back (that seems to be all I ever say, hopefully I get it in January) I'm going to reduce our 2.25" duals (FlowMaster 40's) to a 2.25" single with a Walker 21206. If for nothing else than to chill out the sound... and add some sleeper mystique, haha. It wasn't until after a bunch of mods I realized how much I liked the car when it was basically stock =)

The car that I saw it done on, in our forum, was a Duster. It was tight but it fit, and looked like it came that way. The drivers side took the factory route, and the pass side took a 90 degree turn right out of the muffler, went across and another 90 out back.

Thats just it, 90 degrees is a pretty sharp turn. I may still look into that. Im gonna pass on the dutras for the time being, because I know of a guy around here that has a set of headers that he is not using. I going to see if I can pick those up, because it would be cheaper than dutras for now, and less work.

I will have to do the swap in one day, then drive with open exhaust (fun!) to the shop and then have the exhaust done, if I go with dutras or headers. Im kinda leaning toward the poser duals fo now, because they are easier on my wallet and my grandpa.

I was also thinking of doing the same thing. Single pipe splitting off into duals and running them out each side of the car in front of the rear end, as that seems to be the only space on my car...

What kind of sound would this produce by running a single pipe that splits into duals?

Ok, I found a guy around here that has a set of nice headers for $100 bucks. 8) But, they came off a dodge pickup. :? Now, I understand they made long and short tube, or at least clifford did, headers. What would be the complications If these things are the long tubes? If I end up with these headers, Im doing true duals! 8)

Pointless.

Same as single pipe.

If you want a unique sound, try running a 2 1/4 inch single exhaust, but run the longest glass pack you can find or run four or five shorter cherry bombs.
