Good question Dan. Steel is fine, I did notice sone oxidation on the back side of the starter (aluminum pieces!!) aside from that it's really great stuff. I'm a little scared with Scrubbing Bubbles. Are real men supposed to know this stuff???? Only kidding!!! Joe |

My favorite toxic degreaser is called IDX-20. I get mine from Lordco and it usually comes in a gallon jug with a special sprayer (that won't melt) Spray it on, let it sit for 15 minutes and spray off with a hose. Really caked on crud may need some wire brush or scraper persuasion then repeat the process. I sometimes also follow this up with Windex or some ammonia based cleaner to get rid of the rest of the chemical. Paint doesn't really like to stick to it. Wear gloves and spray in a well ventilated area. Wow, nice pitch, now where's my cheque. If you're spraying your engine in-car then I would also advise masking things like your bell housing, motor mounts and starter. These are classic areas of over-spray that always annoy me. Just my two cents. |

Joe you're on the coast, how about the Tidy Bowl Man than? I use Scubbing Bubbles on my motorcycle, works great...... (since real men don't clean bathrooms, you've got to use it somewhere) And I don't know anything about Tidy Bowls...... (see comment above on cleaning bathrooms) |

Real men Flush and keep their bathrooms clean so their dates dont throw up when using the facilities to get-ready. I dont use bathroom products on my engines... theyre bathroom products for a reason. if you go to a supply shop that sells and services industrial pressure-washers you should find a good selection of cleaners that will work very well on your engine and can be applied with a pump-type garden sprayer. you cannot get an engine clean without at least a cheap Simoniz 1000psi pressure washer and a good commercial citrus cleaner. even just throwing the garden sprayer with a load of citrus cleaner into the trunk and going to a coin-op will put you miles ahead and whats more their drain system has oil separators so your engine grease wont wind-up in the groundwater. |
