Sorry, not familiar with that one. You'll have to figure it out with a meter.

So I'm at this point myself. New all in one GM HEI in hand and not sure about the wiring. Did anyone figure this out yet?

It looks to me as if the coil pinout for that setup is described in detail here.

No, that's not it. The relevant part is just above the "Notes" section of the linked article.

So should I ground the all in one module at the mounting bolt and use pin C (currently marked Ground) on MP connector 12162189 as the 2nd wire to the distributor?

I tried this and didn't get a spark at the plugs.

I'm still not sure how to proceed. I have searched online but have not found info specific to the Metri-Pack HEI module.

Anyone have any ideas? I don't think the HEI how to thread is complete in regard to wiring the newer all in one coil/module.

Has anyone used the late 90's all in one with any success?

I think Fopar did on the '53 Ford. You'd have to check with him though. It's been a while since I looked at it.

I talked with Fopar about this.

He had the newer HEI module but replaced it with the older Standard-Bluestreak LX-301 style module. He used the newer heatsink from the all in one unit after some minor trimming.

So the question remains. Is it possible to use the newer style HEI module as specified in the HEI how to with some additional information added to the HEI how to thread on what to do about the 2nd distributor wire, or is it not possible to use the newer HEI module and the HEI how to needs to be modified to specify that the newer all in one module needs to go bye bye for the older module along with any mention of Metri-Pack connector wiring?

SlantSixDan,

Could you give me some input on the question I have posed please.

Thanks,

The newer module with the 4 pin conecterI wasn't sure which wire went where (check in a Olds '97 wiring diagram for the correct hook up) thats why I used the older module. I did know where they went.

So it sounds like it is possible, its just a matter of finding the 97 Olds Bravada wiring diagram. I did google for it a few days ago but did not find it. I will search some more and see if I can find the wiring diagram.

Thanks again for your input Fopar!

Hi Joshie225,

I have a multi function volt meter out in the garage. Would that and the knowledge of what to check get it figured out?

Could you tell me what I should check with the meter?

Thanks
