Personally, I would rather work with a known crank at a reputable machine shop than to roll the dice with a regrind kit of unknown origin.

you know Dan, those calibrators arn't the easiest things to get a consistent reading on, around slick surface like a journal. I mean the slightest finger pressure changes the reading by at least .001 So i think it would be best to have them all "reground" down to .010
Just to make certain.

Give it to a reputable machine shop and they'll do the checking, they can tell you exactly what it needs, and what you'll need as far as bearings. Don't worry about it. :wink:

Micrometer is easier to check a crank with over Vernier calipers.
