Not if he plans on keeping those big tires, and 4WD. On that application I'd certainly use the 727! even with a /6!
Yeah, I'd ditch those tires for 31's and bring that truck down some if it were me. Perhaps this is not the best truck to slant given that someone would buy it just like it is and its cleary not set up for a slant without lots of rework.

Why not? I ran 35in tires with my 22re, you know what you do? You put in lower gears to make up for it. Frankly I think you'll be fine for a while, but it is hard on engines, trans, and rear ends to have big tires.
Yes, it is possible to have a hot slant without forced induction. It would be easier, probably equally expensive. So, "Search" is your friend and reading. My only suggestion from now on is Erson cams, stay away from Clifford, and bigger valves.
