well any 500 degree engine paint will do and i have tryed them all, i like rustoleum's engine enamel (4.99 a can) the most important thing i guess is making sure the parts are clean, like uber clean ( either sand blast or use 180 grit sand paper on the clean metal ) primer then paint. mine i ran thru the parts washer, blasted or sanded, primered then painted. anyways i'm off to work to pull 2 engines and all the other crap i gotta get done before i can work on my car. |

LOL, well I think you and Ed are both heavily invested in this car as it is. I can't wait till we can run them together down the road, and the dragstrip! That will throw some for a loop... Seeya Friday! ~THOR~ |

yeah i'm still short about 200.00 cash for new parts and supplys to make her road worthy. most of the down time has been working overtime or parts trade days ( weekends ) for the wrecking yard parts. That will throw some for a loop... Seeya Friday! ~THOR~ the other down time is the machine'n of these parts .. making a driveline and so on. but my slant should kick some serrious ass with all this working properly. also i'm using some the most popular parts we have and we only had 4 rears that would work in this conversion, most all these parts i had to pull or assemble or customize in some way to make this swap. dood... THOR u and me are stripping 50 motors saturday! bring your favorate air tool if ya have one! nothing better than demo'n slants all day and grabbing all the parts! feel like helping my pull a trans swap project on sunday? i'm sure we can get some help from the guys if i buy a flat of cheap beer. it's also fun to drop them from the forklift on to the concrete! |

i got the rotors back tonight and they look amazing! i'll post picts tomorrow there in my truck and that means going upstairs and blah .... the drums are getting dropped off tomorrow to be surfaced, 10 x 2.5 rear drums ( 67 charger ) ed and i went thru several ones untill we got down to the last two matched sets. after mic'n them out 2 where with in tolerence and not warped .. curve distance of than 0.05 offset and with a 0.30 over thickness ... there is still meat to be surfaced! other than the drums the only thing i am short is 2 new lower ball joints, i'm still waiting on payday to pick those up. we used what we coudl from my MOOG kit that i had. this included, UCA bushings, strut rod bushings, new hardware, the steering arms are now tubular with way upgraded joins and hardware. the next tasks are to finish the disc break conversion, assemble the 8 & 3/4 rear and the rear brakes. cut the hole for the 3 speed shifter and build a console out of stainless steel and i might use rosewood ( wood ) accents w/ that shift boot... this may take a while. i used rosewood in my truck as dash trim and it looks amazing! i also have been working on a better nitro setup and re-routing the fuel and noz lines. the drum pile i had to go thru rear awaiting me to finish it yeah .. that needed replacing! waiting on lower ball joints and btw THOR, lets get Ed's yellow and black 70 dart GT convertable and our 2 yellow and black 64 & 65 GT darts and take a picture! i do realize that i will need an allignment after all the front end mods i'm gonna limp it the 9 miles into the les shawb in sandy very slowly down moutain roads. |
