What size is that screen? Why that size?

Is that 1/8 x 2 1/2 flat for the pan rails?

These are prototypes. I am going to make a number of changes but they give you the general idea.
It's very nice-looking work you present here — I'd probably run it if I were building an engine warranting additional oil control.

I have purchased special orders of that screen because it is fine enough to dissipate the energy and not allow the significant through transit of oil droplets. The crown allows the windage to purge it. If people want some I am more than happy to sell it. It is not a big deal.

No, that is 16g flat steel stock that has been cut and then bent in a brake prior to the studs being installed. The angle of the pan wall is about 78 - 80 degrees and the piece attempts to parallel it.

I use 16g because it is a typical compressed thickness of a standard gasket -- I looked at the compression limiting washers in the Chrysler Turbo 2.5 one piece gasket. With the 2.4 in the SRT4, the gasket is about 2mm thick or 14g.

When you use these how do you seal the oil pan to the block with the scraper sandwiched in between ? 2 gaskets or sealer?

A high quality silicone RTV -- no side rail gaskets. Ed Peters was suggesting the Mopar rear differential seal as it was formulated for use with synthetic lubricants. Permatex Ultra Gray is OEM rated. Many others are possible.

Kevin will you be making more of these? I would be interested in buying after the first of the year. The cookie jar is empty at the moment. Thanks.

Yes, I would be happy to. There is more information on the website now.

Geez, really wish I had waited to buy my scraper. Still haven't put it to use and looks really outdated...

I apologize -- I needed to edit this because I mentioned many other engines than the slant six and that is not allowed here.

This sounds like a good addition to any slant looking for a bit more, power mpg, longevity. But we all go to the obvious stuff first ie: exaust and big carbs.
Mecedes is a good comparison, very long lasting motors with good power and mileage in some not so big sizes like the 420sel V8s, and the mentioned Diesels.
