Well, wish me luck. While I have no doubt that Federal_mogul/Moog has been outsourcing the majority (if not all) of is manufacturing to lands without quality control, I rolled the dice and ordered up all Moog parts. We'll see what they look like when they get here.

moog? junk/China? since when?
Federal-Mogul have been early-retiring their engineers, systematically replacing them with MBAs. I don't mean fewer engineers, I mean almost none. Huge and increasing chunks of their product line are entirely farmed out on a low-bid basis to China. I have been in a position to observe this transition directly on both the supply and purchase ends, and while it started in the late 1990s, it has rapidly accelerated recently. The quality standard is more or less "good enough for people who don't care".

Champion spark plugs? Go buy an NGK and just take a plain ol' look at them side by each.
Not saying they are/arent the best or the worst; but they have worked for me. What has NEVER worked for me in any Chrysler vehicle I have ever worked on (mine or not) are AC's or Bosch; any variety.

Post subject:  Parts arrived, reporting back

Well, the parts arrived today. Shipped yesterday, got here today, shipped from a warehouse about twenty miles from my house.

Happy to say that all parts boxes are labeled "Made in the USA", except the upper and lower control arm bushings (the rubber ones) which are labeled "Hecho en Mexico." Of course, maybe this means the boxes were made in the USA and Mexico, and the parts inside the boxes were built elsewhere.

Of course, maybe these parts are older stock since they came form a warehouse. Maybe they were manufactured before manufacturing operations were moved overseas to the Island of Misfit Parts.
