Clifford has a reputation for taking too much money and sending less-than-optimal parts--not only "oversell", pushing much more carburetor/manifold/header than is wise for a given application, but also sending the wrong kind of parts, e.g. hydraulic cams for solid-lifter engines, then refusing to own up to their screwups. See this thread. There's also the matter of their telling, um, "creative stories" about their products to justify unjustifiable prices. For example, their special super-duper 1.6-ratio really neato rocker assembly? Bzzt! It's nothing but bone-stock rockers (which are entirely adequate for most slant-6 builds, but the point is there's absolutely nothing special about the ones Clifford offers, except the price which is definitely really "special" :roll: ). Same goes for their super-duper special amazing neato built-up cylinder head; you can get a better head put together by any competent machinist for much less money. And their headers, which might fit and might not (which is because the quality control is poor, not because, as they claim, "engine placement in Darts and Valiants is inconsistent"). But wait, there's more! They're also well known for taking your money now, and sending parts later...much later...if they get around to it at all.

My money is scarce and hard-won enough that I absolutely will not use any of it to reward Clifford's kind of slimy behaviour (or Layson's, for that matter).
