Thanks again everyone. I'm ordering parts today and will let you know what I decide. I had trouble running these Weber 40s on Project V with an unregulated stock pump at higher RPM. Must have been sinking the floats. I am leaning towards two of the little Mr. Gasket pumps in parallel that Dick posted above. Lou |

OK, an update and a warning. I've already notified Lou. My apologies Lou. I recently bought six more of the Mr. Gasket 3 lb pumps (the 42S that I've had on the HAMBster for awhile) for our float (Tournament's rather anal about redundancy I bespoke my displeasure with their ad that makes no mention of that fact. They hung up on me. I'll be reiterating it in a formal letter. I'm having to order some regulators, and will get an extra for such time as the HAMBster's pump fails and needs updating. I regret and rescind my advice to use these pumps for low pressure systems, they're no longer valid for that application. Also, please, if you're stuck with this situation, do NOT buy the cheap "knob" style regulators. Get the fully enclosed, screw adjust sort, they're leagues safer. |

Thanks for the detailed info, old6... I guess I won't pull these back off and send back, but just add a regulator. Major bummer. Yay to misinformation and bad treatment from big companies!! I looked at the Carter pump too, and may use that at some point. Believe they are 6 psi rated. Lou |
