Charlie,
Will this bellhousing be able to use the stock mechanical linkage for the clutch?I am currently using a 75 Abody bell housing and clutch fork and would like to be able to use the linkage as I have already debugged it to work in my 60 Valiant.
Thanks
HyperValiant

That was a question Ross asked me. What throw out fork setup, and I told him I didn't know. He said he would use the standard "A" body fork.

The funny thing about all this. I talked to Quicktime, at the PRI Show, and they didn't seem that interested in doing a slant housing. The member who got all this started, Rod43, has not been back to the site since the original post, back in early March. He just asked me to send a bell housing to them for a pattern, since he lives in France. I have sent him a PM and e-mails, and have heard nothing back.

If they actually make this would it be SFI certified for NHRA use?

Yes. All Quick Time housings are SFI certified.
No prices, yet.

I worked with Ross on a Mopar project late last year (after SEMA) and during that project I suggested to him that a slant six - T5 bellhousing might be a good product. He asked me for some info which I provided to him. So maybe the combination of several conversations at the same time convinced him that there was some demand for the product.

Crap, it sounds like the Bonneville Barracuda might have to get a T5. I'd make the longer input shaft of a late V6 Mustang T5 fit as the ratios are much better suited to a slant than the older V8 versions. Actually, it probably matters very little for Bonneville as all the 'work' is done in 4th gear anyhow. Actually a 4 cylinder version with the low 1st gear would help it drive off the starting line easier. I don't expect a lot of low end torque with the motor I'm building.

My bet is the 833 version will be ready by the time your car gets together, Josh. :P

BTW, a few of us eastern Slant Sixers are looking into running the Maxton Mile in NC (ECTA - East Coast Timing Association) in the fall. 1 mile run to the timing clocks, then 0.9 mile shutdown. Paved WWII airstrip at 200 ft elevation. I could either drive the '64 Dart down there or tow Project V.

Gee, thanks Lou. ;-)

I'd rather run the A833 as I already own it and already rebuilt it. I also have a 23-spline clutch on the way.
