Yea Reed gas prices would make someone want to do that.
Dartman i know someone that has a 1970 plymouth Road Runner, i wish it was mine.
I also have a 1972 duster with a slant six, i will be restoring that next.
I wasn't ever lucky enough to see my dad's Roadrunner, he had it back in the late 70's. He also had a 1970 Dodge Challenger, plum crazy purple convertible with a 318 2-barrel, 904 on the column, 7 1/4 (later an 8 3/4 out of a chrysler). I also missed his 67' Plymouth Fury he had in early 70's. It had a bone stock 225 with a 904 column shift and 7 1/4 rear. He locked up the engine one night cause he hadn't added oil in a while (front main seal leaked) and he didn't see the oil light.

I hate that I missed the muscle era... But I guess if I had been in the muscle car era, I probably would have sold my car during the fuel embargo of 73' thinking "I I'd always get another someday."

Yea i probably would have sold it during that time also, never knowing that i was selling a work of art. I am and always will be a true blue MOPAR man. In my opinion there will never be, and never has been any cars to date that can compare to the mopars of the 60's and 70's.
