gas milage has more to do with tranny and rear end then motor or shape of vehicle if you have a 225 with a automatic your not going much over 20mpg with a 3.55 rear swap over to a 323 with a 833od and you can push high 20s even in a truck but you will not be haulin heavy loads just arse

The best I ever did was in my 'ol 71 Dart 4 door. On a weekend trip to Medford for racing, my combined mileage was 27.

225, A904, 2.76:1, 2.25" exhaust from firewall back, freeflow muffler, and a #55 jet in the Holley 1920. It was hot that day, I was pingin like mad (stock dizzy), but the drive to Medford and back, plus racing netted me 27 MPG... doing no faster than 55 on the freeway both ways, and shutting the car off anytime I wasn't racing.

55mph in an auto car and 2.76:1, with stock 185/70/14s on the back gets me about 2100 RPM.

I did similarly with the Duster, 26 MPG from Salem to Seattle and back. 1920 with a #56 jet, 2.76:1, A904, and doing no faster than 60 on the way.

Thor,

That sounds about right with this crummy fuel. I get the same mileage in my 74 with those jets if I behave and don't spin the tires too much at the lights. :)
