late update:

last weekend replaced timing chain

still serious lack of power

last weekend (as in the 19th of march 2011) i tested compression, 135 PSI was highest, 119 Was lowest. so fine *i hope tell me if i am wrong*

this weekend, test for vacuum leak... and if that is fine... i hope to jebus its fine but if vacuum leak isnt the problem... -.- we are going back in to see if the timing chain is lined up... -.- pray for me that it isnt that... and i aint even religious... pray to the car gods that it isnt timing... (click and clack are fine to pray to)

Post subject:  I love your car!

Okay I love your car for a lot of reasons but here are the two main reasons! 1) Its a duster 2) I own a '73 duster that looks EXACTLY like the one in your pictures at the beginning of your subject, only difference is mine has steel wheels with center hubcaps. I'm 17, and i bought this car as my first car when i was 15. I can't wait to get the money and time to fix mine up like your doing to yours. Good luck!

so a little update, removed the valve covers... not to bad not to bad at all, 37 years of gunk and it looks pretty good i was expecting some bad stuff like thick oil with metal shavings and birds nests with kitties... but not just some gunk...

soon i will be screwing with the engine a bit more to try to get everything going right again...

wow it has been a long time, but i am back.

I have been slowly working on the duster.. and by slowly i mean almost not at all.

Update on the duster (now dubbed ruster due to vinyl roof eating away at my roof and my heart :( ) got a line on a few things, and it may result in my 74 duster leaving the slant six field and move onto the 360 v8 or 383 v8 field.
