I get beat consistantly by a 18.25 car  Guzzi Mark
I actually had a much better winning percentage when I was driving a stock Slant car. Something seems to go away when the bug to go faster hits.

Too much other "crap" gets added... more then anything "going away".
With my street slant at the drags, I wait for my run, stage the car and leave when the tree drops, and you'r off.
18 seconds later, I am looking for the other car to see if I need to let-off some.

With my 12 second car, I'm watching tempetures in the staging lanes, putting on a helmet & jacket, doing all the tire heating, burn-out stuff, (so the car hooks) turning knobs, (N2O bottle) flipping switches and pushing buttons... between the burn-out and staging the car... it's like running thru a pre-flight check-list, and don't skip a step.

Once staged and the tree drops, now you have to keep the car going straight... and that can be a challenge on some passes, then judge the closure and finish, that my need both feet on the brake to slow the car enough to not break-out...
Yes... a lot more to keep track-of as the car gets faster.

Nothing makes up for seat time, I took 4 years off and now it's like I never went down a track before.
