Can't have toe change as the wheel moves up and down. If a wheel toes inward during compression (bump) you'll get roll oversteer. This is what my Dakota would do. Is the center link level from side to side? I need to scan and post the bump steer info from my old Direct Connection Chassis manual.

1/2" or even 1" difference side-side on ride height will not have large handling effects. I play with my ride ht all the time, and frequently have it off side-side. It is really difficult to notice a difference, and I'm not sure I ever have. Mind you, this suspension/alignment/box are set up nicely to start with.

Bingo! On & off is a good description. Also, on & off for an opposite direction correction for the initial dart… Rather unsettling at times. Other times the change is slower if the steering wheel is stable in two hands, while an arm is pressed tightly against the door & arm rest to limit any wheel input.
That is classic toe problems.

Zilla, that is what I thought as well, toed out I would have guessed, but after three alignments in 9,000 miles the car still dose the left & right "dart" to a reduced degree.

With power steering pump belt removed, car would carve beautifully, predictably, but took Popeye arms in a parking lot. LOL

I do know that today’s frontend alignment machines use degree measurement, not fractions of an inch as listed in the FSM, and this may be confusing the technician. Come to think of it, it didn’t take much to confuse old Rusty, the guy that did my work…

Nothing like a small town located 100 miles from anywhere for a big choice of providers. Now that we are back living on the cusp of civilization, I can hopefully find a good Mopar friendly frontend shop. One place I interviewed proclaimed they did old Vetts & Rustangs all the time… Comforting to know these guys are on top of their game.
