Often, what's good for RPM is bad for torque. Especially in the choice of carburetors and cams, tires and gears.

HP is a rate at which torque is delivered.

That's why I say RPM, meaning high speed torque, where, personally, low-speed torque is more relevant to some of us not-too-swift types. :)
