Check the wires between the regulator and the alternator. If there are bad connections there your voltage will not be stable, or correct. Eventually I put a GM one wire alternator on, but early on I replaced the regulator wiring and got much better voltage control. I eventually replaced the entire wiring with new wires and connectors. My car was driven in Boston for ten years, and the salt really took a toll on wiring under the hood. I have always had a soft spot for your model car. And, it looks fairly rust free from what you could see in the photo. Bumper chrome is good, and it is straight. Sam |

Yeah that's why I got the car...There's no rust on it now, and I couldn't beat the price of $700. Anyways that wire between the alternator and voltage regulator is garbage so I fixed that and hopefully it'll be A+++ now. You wouldn't like my car too much right now...I just threw the 1st roller coat on her....I wanted to take a heart attack but I know after a few coats, it'll look awesome. |

Hahaha yes....I'm on the 2nd coat and I feel like I'm going to have a heart attack every time I look at my car. I hate the fact it's not rolling on evenly and some spots are darker than others...I REALLY hope the 3rd coat is going to look 3/4 respectable. I mean it makes sense. It's how you put paint on boats...It looks like after a few layers it'll actually look nice...Except for the roof...The moron who owned the car before me decided to paint the roof with house paint and I had to sand the roof all the way down to the metal and prime it...But it STILL doesn't go on right on the roof because it's thirsty for paint. |

I read the story on your wagon there, i must say that's a nice find for the amount of money you paid for it! It's substantially better now that I fixed that wire, but it does still shimmer just a little bit. To be completely honest, I'm not too worried about it right now as my wedding is in... *thinks*..... 7 weeks. But I do greatly appreciate the offer man! I'm about 90% done on my Rustoleum paint job and I'm quite pleased with the results. I just have to paint some of the trim, wait for the paint to fully cure and polish the paint with rubbing compound and a buffer to remove the orange peel. -Eric |
