Hey Doug,

You can fly to Louisville and I'll pick you up, take you to the race, and back to the airport. You too D.I.

In fact, ANY Killer Bees that want to attend the Clay City race are welcome to do the same. I'll be going to the track on Friday to get things set up, but if you want to fly in before that I'll put you up and even feed you! (Yes, I just checked with Angie and she is on board! :D )

Our basement should(No, WILL!! ) be done by then. It'll have a bathroom with shower and a couple bedrooms you can use...

I'm hoping to have two Slant 6 cars ready by then and could use some help anyway.

Hi Lou: Our Bees have their stingers ready for any 'invaders'. With all the rains and high winds this last night, I will be on the chainsaw for about a month...Might have to break out the "oars" to go anywhere...Hope to see someone..someone from the "invaders team" at one of our races this year...later from wet and windy Chico, "Wayne's World" ( the fastest on gas 170 powered "toad")

Hey Wayne,

I'll make plans to "Fly West" if you or any other Killer Bees will make plans to "Fly East"! I'll even make arrangements for you to have a car to drive at Clay City! :D

Elk Creek, VA was (and probably will be for 2012) the replacement race for N. Wilkesboro. It is only about 1 hr from you. Nice little track in a pretty valley.

What needs to be done to get a race in Washington?

1) Find a track that is interested in running a SL6 class and agree on the entry cost.

2) Pick a date for the race. (grouping it with a Mopar day or "old cars" event is a good idea)

3) Help promote the event to ensure a good "first time" turn-out.

4) Attend the race and have fun.

Basically, there needs to be a "point person" to set things up... a "go-to guy" is needed.

That's covers it.

Could you clarify #1. Is the fee to race at the track or an entry fee to set up a slant 6 event?

It is a good idea to know what the track charges for entry & racing for that event weekend and our special class.
We do some races where the cost is low ($25 to 40.00 range) and other that charge $75 to 100.00 for the racing weekend.
It's always good to give people an idea of cost so there are no "mis-understandings" or drama at the front gate.
