Yeah, just wanted to chime in on the site's ultimate righteousness! Any pin-headed, pimple-faced boy can play with a boring V-8, but I think it takes a certain, special kind of mental patient to delve into the pure magic of a slant-sixer! Thanks again!

Post subject:  Newbie /6 in Northern CA

Hi, all. just joined. I have 2 '66 'Cudas, a 273 + a 225 /6. I have a question about the 225 in my 'Cuda, if any of you happen to see this. It's not stock 225; not even sure a 225 came in a '66. Actually, I'm not even sure if it's a 225 or 170, how do I tell? It has EGR on exhaust, which is not stock in '66; no smog. On the driver's side block in large letters it's stamped 0174. I'm wondering if that's Jan., 1974? Just curious. Kool group here.

Hey, Doug, Wayne E. from Chico told me to look you up, I'm in Red Bluff. Had some ?'s; is that photo with head pulled, or can I see date stamp on block assembled?

It should be visible w/ everything assembled, although the alternator bracket can make it difficult to see. That pad actually sticks out beyond the head sealing surface. If there's no stampings there, the block has probalby been decked previously.

G'day to yas all.
I have just joined this forum. Looks good, well done!!!
Ok, I have a 1962 SV1 Valiant Sedan, bought it in 1986, and I still have it, its the first car I have owned, have had a few since.
Its currently in its second total rebuild, still with s/6.
It must be weird to change gears with your right hand????
Whats it like to get bits and pieces over there??? for the 'S'???

Post subject:  G'day back

It is weird to change gears with your right hand, especially on the column, but 'when the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.' (HST)
Getting bits isn't too difficult, but would be easier for a moustang.
I read the catalogs here like this, Ford, Ford, chevy, Chevy, Chevy, Ford, Ford, Pontiac, Chevvy, Chevy, Ah. :|

I've visited but never posted. Now I have a 87 Dodge P/U with some sprucing up to do and thought I might be neighborly and say hello.

Can anyone help with obtaining a Slant/6 Aluminum engine complete. For my 1962 Signet 200?

These show up from time to time. Do you have much/any experience with the aluminum engine? Is this planned as a street or a race car?
