175 shot with a fuel rich tune-up was not fine.
That is the point where I started breaking pistons, also. 150 was fine, 175 scrap city.

Yeah, contrary to the popular belief, fuel rich is NOT safe, but just as bad or worse than nitrous rich.

I have never seen a 2bbl N2O plate, but that doesn't mean there isn't one...

NOS used to have a 2bbl plate for the Holley 2300 series number 12900 They also had a Cheater system for Rochester Tri-Power 13033 and those plates should be the same bolt pattern as a BBD. The plates alone appear to be part number 12983. I found a picture and the middle plate is just a spacer! Too bad none of these part numbers come up when searching the NOS/Holley web site.

I had the opportunity to run with Charlie S. on a test and tune night last year, and i got to see his car go from a 17.?? to mid 13's using 125 shot on a 170 engine. I was very surprised.
That was the first time that car had been to the track in 2 years. The engine is a totally stock short block, just a cam and bolt-on's, with the nitrous. Don't run too much timing, and don't go lean.
I went to the Hagerstown slant race with the car exactly the same as last year, and was running 13.6's on sat.
Sunday morning I changed my nitrous/fuel jets. I found I only had a 100 shot in the engine, not 125. I installed 150 HP jets, and proceded to run a 13.10. I picked up about 4-5 tenths, and about 1.2 MPH. Only 3 runs at that setting but engine seems to be ok.

Just a little update. My system is a 6 nozzel "fogger" type. I had been running #22 fuel and nitrous jets, which according to the NOS chart would give 100 hp. I increased the jet size to # 26's which is supposed to be 150 hp.
I reciently was referred to some nitrous charts/formulas online.
http://www.angelfire.com/fl4/pontiacdud ... lator.html

Using the calculator at the bottom of the page running a #26 nitrous and fuel jet at 1000 lbs N2O pressure and 6 lbs fuel pressure, I should be a little on the rich side, and be at the 183 hp level.
