See here; put such a nut in a vise and give two or three of the castle "fingers" a love tap with a drift punch to create the kind of "gripper" interference thread Doc talks about above.

I also have a interest in this as my exhaust manifold is leaking:( due to 3 small washers installed before I bought it |

I pulled prolly 1/2 dozen at the salvage yards that took the stud out with it before I got one off with just the brass bushing attached. A little heat and a drift seperated the two. |

That must be one heck of a gasket. I have never seen one so thick that the nuts won't fit on the studs! Doug: "factory's fastener ast-uo"? I don't think I have one of those. |
