Is the 65 904 trunion? I had a BB 727 that was cable shift and no trunion. |

| Post subject: | speedo pinion changed between 65-66. |
Quote: 67 trans is the same as 66, except for possibly the speedo connection. I don't remember what year that changed.
My 64 and 65 Valiants had the "old style" speedometer pinion. My 66 Valiant and Cuda had the "new style" pinion. The old style plastic gears have been made out of "unobtanium" for decades-- they were hard to find, even 25 years ago. They are strikingly similar to the Chrysler FWD gears, but not identical. The new style gears (1966-up) were used for a long time. Probably all the rear wheel drive cars and trucks. On the upper end of the speedo cable, the screw threading was used through 1967. The snap-on fitting started in 68. Thus, for anyone putting a newer (66-up) transmission into an older vehicle, the speedo cable that fits directly is the one from a 66-67. - Erik |

Erik is correct. I edited my prior post to correct the speedo info. |
