Careful, don't want too short of a wheel base, I understand they can be a handful on top end with a fast car.

Get it to the track and see how much it helped. :D

Buddy of mine used to race a Malibu he bought from Larry Kopp. Kopp ran it in Comp Eliminator and was always about .1 faster than everyone else. He was torn down multiple times and no one could figure out what he was up to. NHRA official just happened to walk by one day when someone had parked an identical Malibu next to Larry's. Windshield was layed back 8*. Car was instantly tossed and my buddy got it as a roller pretty cheap.

Ya know...
There is an extra 12 inches or so... between the door socket and the rear wheel opening... that's dead weight and is just taking up space... may-bee you should chop that section out??
DD

Dont expect it to help any on my ets,but dont think it will hurt.I just needed my cutting fix.Next cutting fix would require alot more cutting, time and money.Would move rear wheels forward 4 to 6 inches.Dont think that will happen before Vegas this year. Then again,Vegas is allmost three weeks away.Guzzi Mark

This looks/sounds a lot like something Smokey Yunick would've done.

Junior Johnson was best known for it.

He and Smokey used to account for over half the rules in the NASCAR rulebook.

Hey Mark, i weighed a cut up 64 and with a ladder bar aftermarket frame kit and doing the tin the way we discussed 200 pounds reduction is doable. However this should only be done starting from scratch. There is a racer in Oregon working on fiberglass fenders, doors and trunk lids for 64/66 darts. Maybe that elusive sub 2000 lb door car is doable, maybe next year.
