heyyy; can't argue w/a /6 one bit but don't knock that old Johnson either. I like playing around w/outboards but you couldn't give me a Merc; a Yamaha or any of several other more recent brands that have surfaced; and the newer Johnson/Evinrude by Bombardier, nope. Those old OMC outboards were unbeatable, in much the same way the /6 is; sheer durability. |

The Johnson has been good, it's just that this slant six boat got my attention. I went to look at it today. The boat and motor were what I expected. What I didn't expect was how all the trim parts were unusable. The whole project appears to have been hastily disassembled, bolts, screws, emblems, shifter, steering, gauges, etc were all thrown in a bucket and left in the boat outside to bubble up with rust. If the parts weren't stainless or brass, they were garbage. The bad part is there doesn't appear to be source for reproduction Correct Craft parts like there are for other inboard boats like Chris Craft or Century. So for now, I passed on it. |

A CC Skier used the same hull as the CC Mustang. What I went to look at would look like this Mustang. |

Quote: Hey Dennis,
Hey Cecil!! Great to see you around here again! We missed ya! I've been working nites and long hours so I haven't had time to hang out here. I do check out Moparts several times a week. As you can see by this thread that I haven't gotten any smarter if I'm looking to buy another project I won't have time for. BTW, it's good to see Seymore finally came out of his cave and joined the computer generation. Yup, Seymour is up & runnin'. |
