Are those whitewalls, Doc? And what could you ship them for (maybe on a bus or something) to zip code 29651?

If they're good tires it would probably be worth it to me. Do you have a picture of them you could post up here?

I finally had a chance to post pictures of the Dart, by the way:

Check it out! Not bad for some BEFORE pictures.

I see that Pep Boys has Hankook 175/70R13 tires on sale - buy 4 and get a VISA card back with the value of the 4th tire. The reviews are pretty decent on the tires, and even though they're a little smaller than the 175/80R13 tires, for that money I would think it would be worth it.

We would rather run the original tires and wheel covers because the covers look so good.

What do you guys think?

You could do worse than Hankook; the Koreans make much better parts and cars than the Chinese. The original tire size was 6.50 × 13, which translates to a P175/80R13 (24" diameter) or a P185/80R13 (24.65" diameter). The P175/70R13 you're looking at will be 22.6" diameter, a pretty substantial reduction. The original tires were really too small for that car; these you're looking at will be ridiculously small.

Both of those sizes aren't available at Pep Boys, so I'll keep looking. Thanks very much for the info.

Looks like AAA is on their way to tow the car, so I should have it this afternoon.

We're just having a hard time finding any replacements, and I can get a 185/70R13 ordered. How hard would that be to make work?

Save up some money and be patient and purchase the 14 inch wheels. Between Craigslist, junkyards and/or forums like ours, you'll find a set in a few months. You'll be disappointed with the 13s for a lot of reasons.

I have a set of P185-80-R13 Hankook whitewalls mounted on rims. They have about 1000 miles on them and are 2-years old. If you can find a way to get them from East Texas to you, they are free, but I won't mess with shipping them.

Thanks for trying! There was actually a 6.50 x 13 on the spare that was probably one of the tires that came on it.

Hey Doc,

I know this is an old post, but I'm wondering if you still have those 14" wheels... I'm in the SF Bay Area and would love to get rid of my current 13" setup.

Cheers,
Bill
