Max, it seems like you may have taken offense to that last comment. Just so we are clear, I am in awe of how, even from the smallest thing, some of the members of this forum are able to make a great diagnosis. Its like watching Columbo, he asks off-the-wall questions that seem completely disconnected. Yet in the end it is those answers that solve the case, genius. |

Thanks for the tips Ceej, I'm pretty positive on the location(s) of the leak. I could see it physically squirting out from between the deck and head near the rear (toward the firewall) and middle-ish-rear (just above the dizzy, maybe toward the firewall a few inches). Now it could just be me, but it seemed like the leak only started when the car was turned off, because I was right there a few minutes before checking the heater hose to heater core for leaks. And I would have notices it leaking the way it was. Just after I turned off the car I heard a gulping/sloshing noise. Upon investigation there was oil (possibly mixed with coolant) squirting out. This resulting in enough oil on the ground to fill the cap of a quart of oil. That's when I decided it was lunch break time. Also, not sure if it matters, my oil level was a bit high (maybe 1/4"-1/2" on the dip stick). |
