If you already have a damper puller you can get just the Lisle Tool installer like I did. http://www.amazon.com/Lisle-52650-Harmo ... B000I1AN58 |

Finally had some time to work on it. I just rented a tool. And when using it. The damper didn't budge. Just like before, that thing is an insanely tight fit for what ever reason. Pulled it off, it was super hard pulling it off aswell, the puller pressed in the first thread in the crank. Had to buy a 3/4 16 tap. Looked at the snout of the crank, no burrs or anything, inside the hub of the damper, Nada either. Everything seemed fine, just a very very tight fit. I got some emory cloth l, and spent 30 to 60 seconds on the inside of the hub just to clean up anything I couldn't see, put a nice big glob of anti seize on the inner hub, and tried pressing it on again. Worked like a charm, went on all the way smoothly, I don't know why it was so tight before, but maybe the emory knocked off what ever was holding it up. |

Quote: I've heated up Chevy ones with a propane torch for a min and went on with a few decent taps. But I'm sure its not good for the rubber. I'll just buy a longer bolt and I didn't even think of using my big impact. Thanks
You'll damage the thrust bearing.Mitch |
