Most of the high end cars of the 20’s & 30’s had louvers thermostatically controlled to adjust air flow to radiator, rather than an in head thermostat used on more modern cars.

The only reason I can see for rounding the corners is to reduce the potential for injury. From experience, I can also suggest putting a file to edges created by tin snips. The little buggers can be hard on hands. |
