I got two of those mid-70's P/S matched units (still "married") laying around... Poor Rob gets a promotion and is getting soft, I need to talk to your Sgt.Major so he can whup your butt back into shape!  The best part about an A-body is that it not only is transportation, it's also an exercise machine keeping you fit and trim!!!! Add a manual transmission and a can of soda with no cup holder, and you've got a free thighmaster!!!  -D.Idiot |

I do have a couple extra arms sitting around that I could cut down and see if I like it or not.... Thanks for that one too! Get a racecar going before you take that apart, please. The larger stock steering wheel would make it easier to turn too, in the meantime. Lou The Dart schtuff will happen whenever. Not a huge priority at the moment. I did fiddle with the Duster the other day. Frank stopped by to get his upgraded trailer and we chatted for awhile. It was good to see him. I came back from Iraq in 2005 in great shape (37), although my knees were kinda startin' to go just a little. The back's been an issue since November 2000.  I came back from Afghanistan in 2010 in not such great shape (42), knees and back both much worse, lost about 35 pounds (gained all back now ) and I developed this nervous twitch every time I see a post from Cookie! I'll still be able to handle my own though.

When I was stationed in Germany I would autocross my SRT-4 with with a nice guy from Holland that drove stupid fast Opels. He had scavenged one of those out of another car and retrofitted it into one of his little Opels. I loved the idea and thought about getting one to try and put it in the Dart when I got back stateside, but realized that it would be another one of those projects that would never get done given my limited fabrication skills. I've been sorta watching the prices on this set up for a couple years now hoping that it will eventually drop to more affordable levels. I've also thought of an AlterKation set up, etc... The car's sitting in the driveway under a cover for now...

I would be very leary of anything from Unisteer. They have a well deserved reputation for selling half thought out poorly built crap.

What about modifying an electric setup from a junkyard car to the current steering? |

A fellow at church has a brand new Nissan, and complained to me about it being twitchy and all over the road. He did some research, and found out it is the factory electric assist steering. Kicks in every time there is a fraction of movement detected in the wheel, making the car annoying to drive. |

I have a friend at work with a G-6 that the electric assist just quits working on. The car is almost impossible to steer un til you shut the car off and restart it. Not sure if she has ever found anyone who can fix it or not.
