Rug_Trucker,

Do you want to see dyno results with a 2 barrel BBD on a Weiand or 4 barrel on a Weiand.

Once my "Torque and Mileage Build" upgrades are done and engine broken in, this spring I could put it on a dyno. We have a place not to far away across the valley in Auburn.

Im thinking about doing a baseline dyno on my truck, and then one after the 4bbl,HEI,Headers,and 4.56's are installed to see what kind of gains I get without doing any head/internal engine work.

I love reading any dyno stuff!

Rapom I would do an RV type head like I did for a friend's van.

I will be. Stock valves with a back cut,and just a casting flash cleanup and port match, then a cut to get 9-1. I was wanting to do a big cam,but I may just put something like the RV15m that Doc designed.I want to be able to run pump 87 at all times since its my daily driver. It should be plenty fun with the 4.56's,trak loc, headers and a TQ cam.

We cut .060 off my friends van head. I "Street polished" the chambers. did the bowls. port matched the intakes. Actually went 1/8" bigger around them bigger than the gasket. Smoothed the exhaust. Didn't go bigger.

He had to run 89 until we put that head on. He runs 87 with no ping.

Was this a mechanical or hydro lifter engine? If hydro,no problems with going .060 off the head?

Your going to run the RV15M RDP on a hydraulic top end? Problem. Don't run this profile for a hydraulic build. You will want a hydaulic profile. The lash ramps are too slow.

Or are you changing over to mechanical valve train parts? At .060", based on an uncut head to start, no problem. At 0.100" you may need to start looking at shorter mechanical pushrods. Not always.

CJ-

Im actually looking into translating the RV15 into a hydro grind, based off of your recommendation :D I have been reading DadTruck's cam thread, and Josh makes a recommendation for a cam that is similar but on a hydro profile.

Mechanical head. Hydro's have some play. How much? I have no clue.

I need to figure that out. I hope I can raise my comp to at least 8.5-1 without issue.
