Very cool! I need to start collecting some of that gear myself. I think I'll need the suit since the Challenger has aluminum firewall, floor, etc.. Do you have to have a full-face helmet for LeMons? I need to research the various rule books so I'm ready if/when called...  Have a great time this weekend Lou! Hopefully someone will be taking some video! |

The original ones were (and a few still are) 24 hr continuous endurance races. This one was 14.5 hrs of racing over 2 days. Quite civilized with 4 drivers and a reliable car. I cannot express how fun this was. I am still reeling. One of the most fun weekends of my life. I'll do a writeup soon, with some pics. In short, the car ran great after almost not firing up at all in time for tech. I LOVED driving in full traffic and passing everywhere on the track. It felt very natural and I turned some fast lap times even in traffic. Only one little bump that broke one rear bumper bolt. Logged about 3.5 hrs on the track. Definitely need to do this again... Lou bring it on would like to hear from a LeMons veteran how things are handled.. like 1) do you bring your own fuel in 2) how did your team set pit stops, driver changes 3) qualifying / starting order, how is that determined 4) is the racing fair? do you really have a chance to run well and win 5) are the other competitors capable 6) roughly ,, what is the bottom line dollar wise to do this thanks DT |

Hey Dadtruck! Didn't that group include Wayne the "Cookie monster" and Rob the "Killer ToMater"? they haven't even gone down a quarter mile race track yet and you want to have them race "together" for 14 hours!!! Ok, This should be good! Rick |

You and Wayne are the ones that have cornered the market on all the running engine/tranny combos within a four state radius!  Let's see now... Here's who we've got so far: Dennis (Bagel) Wayne (Cookie) Rob (Mater) John (Poppa Smurf) Andy (Captain Cave Man) Lou (Professor / Mad Scientist) We also need to recruit John's son, Andrew.  Not sure of the age restrictions for Pit Crews, but I'd be willing to bet that at least a couple of my thundering horde would wanna play too! And don't forget! Mike is amazing,... and a genius!

I think they run one of the LeMons at a track around Chicago,, I'll find out when it happens,, won't have a car this time, but would be fun to check it out,,, |

OK Lemonheads, here's a deal for ya. Mater has a rusty Duster that he can't sell, I have a non rusty Duster I can't sell. Both have 8/10 point bars in them. IF you guys want to do a LeMons car, I will donate the body of my Duster and most any parts that go with. You can either use mine to fix Maters or his to finish mine. Mine is at this time a bare shell with a 10 point bar with nose bars to the front frame horns. I do have steel fenders and doors that would be suitable for racing purposes. I have all the glass except the windshield. There is a spool type K frame that goes with. It currently has ladder bar mounts under it, but I am sure the mounting points for the leaf springs are still there. You will need to weld in a shock crossmember. It is also mini-tubbed. I will keep the ladder bar mounts off of it. Mater has the motor plate for the car, as well as an MP 6X1 header. Reality is that I will probably not live long enough top finish this car myself, so come and get it. I am not implying that Rob will give his Duster away, but he might.
