i ran an ignitor kit in my 318 swinger with a msd box and it ran great. without the msd it started and ran no better than properly adjusted points. in fact, the only thing i can say about the ignitor is that there is no need to set and replace points and it was truly a simple swap. long term reliability? i've run the ignitor for about 8 months now with no hassles. i have all the parts to swap in chrysler eis but have been too lazy to do it after fixing everyone else's cars all day. i do not agree that any electronic setup should be considered without and electronic regulator. they just do a much better job than the point-type system and an ignition pickup needs full power at all times to be effective. it will work, but not that well. -james |

Stock drop in replacement regulators from Wells (get them at Autozone) are electronic even for the older one field wire alternators. |
