I just read this post while searching for information on my own disc brake conversion. Got lots of questions answered especially my question on a rear axle swap for the LBP. Thanks for the great information (again)!

I just flipped through the latest issue of Hot Rod magazine, and amazingly found an article written about this exact upgrade. It has some good tips too...

The article mentioned a story about someone picking up the parts at a salvage yard and ended up with 2 right sided calipers. Although they look similar, one caliper's bleeder valve is pointed down with 2 of the same side calipers installed. In this situation the owner could never properly bleed the brakes.

It also showed a bad master cylinder that was pulled from the salvage yard. Pictures showed lots of pitting and corrosion on the internal parts.

It was very informative and gave more advice than what i have written here. It also gave links to where you can purchase new parts for the upgrade.

Worth the cover price for lots of good info.

Thanks for the heads up. That is why this forum is so great! QUALITY information. This is lacking on other forums I have visited.

Just picked up some 14" wheels with some great looking caps. $100 on craigslist, turns out the guy went to school with my dad... Small world

also found this rear end .... http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/pts/2975856310.html

the wheels i purchased are 5 x 4.5".

$200 seems steep, what do you think?

I have new tires on the wheels now, and I have located a 76 Dart at a pick n pull near my house. Will this donor car theoretically have what i need for the front and rear end?

Yep, get everything off that '76. Front brakes + control arms, rear axle, etc.
