Loose spark plugs aren't good. What plugs are you running? Did you remove the metal ring washers from them before installation?

I'm using the NGK plugs you recommend, can't recall the product # but they're the right ones. And yes I removed the metal rings.

Tighten them up to the specified torque, but I don't think that's the main cause of your problem.

I still think the problem is probably in your carburetor. See my earlier comments (float, etc.)

Dan, I checked my float and all is fine with it. I'm having the problem again with constant stumbling. The car has always had a little miss to it. When warm it wants to cut off whenever I am in gear. I'll give it a good rev and it'll backfire through the carb, then smooth out and stop missing and run great. Is this a stuck valve?

Probably not.

You may be due for a new carburetor; send me a PM if you're in the market.
