The different floats used different springs. Info from Holley Illustrated Parts and Specs manual. 16R-362A was used with spring 38R-1008. This is the older one. Newer lighter float 16R-362A-3 was used with sprin 38R-1131. Walker float spring 66-75 looks to be stiffer than the orignals.http://www.mikescarburetor.com/Holley-1 ... _1130.html

http://www.mikescarburetor.com/Holley-1 ... _1130.html I compared both side by side. Old 38R-1131 is shorter and softer than new Walker 66-75

Thanks matv91!. The spring I have is different than the one in the link's picture, mine looks shorter/softer, and the upper part ends in a vertical "needle" that goes through a hole in the float arm.

I bought the 16R-362A with spring 38R-1008 from Mike's Carburetor (the heavier float with its spring), installed it in my old carb and it worked (It improved a little, I still need to clean the carb properly, but I think it worked!). Matv91 and all others, thanks a lot!

I a new member (I've been following this site for some time, great discussions and info). I'm trying to repair a Holley 1920, but I cant find a float (large diameter pin) . Also, I need the baffle, and the nylon sleeve for the pump (were the steel ball in the Walker kit goes). Any suggestion?Should I find a new carb (Reman (ugh), Weber replacement?)
Nylon sleeve for the pump? Carb no 4163 does not use this, last year for this 1962-63. See http://www.slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic ... eve#166112
