Thanks for the suggestions on the cradle. I guess the odd shape of the slant doesn't really lend itself to the prefab 'engine cradles' that are out there so well? Seem like they're more ready-made for evenly balanced/weight-distributed engines like V-6's and V-8's. Wasn't really wild about going to buy another piece of equipment for this project, but also not into the idea of tearing up a rented truckbed.

The tire solution may yet fly... Then again...I may end up yanking out the '60's 170 to work on too. Hmmm.....
