That's amazing! But uh, that stripe that was origionaly was on my car before I painted it isn't mentioned. Does this mean that this was a dealer installed thing?

Stripes from the factory show up as a "K" code...i.e. "transverse Sport Stripe is K8 or K9 and a color follows say a white one would code as K8W...

The stripe may be the reason for the "sales" code they added it for the dealer at the last minute...and as you stated it could have been added at the dealership as well (and not shown on the window sticker or fender tag...the first owner may have liked one and had it added...).

Haven't posted on my own turead for a while, not much has happened. I licensed and insuresd it almost a month and a half ago, and immediantly started driving it. Its been swilling oil like a champ, with the record being a gallon of oil in two hundred miles (like fifty or sixty weight!) but it don't smoke... and I have good cylinder compression, and I had my head checked, along with the one on my car  and its all good. So I just drive it. As my dad says, I 'check the gas and fill up with oil' yeah... anyways, last weekend I picked up a 225 and 904, along with a very nice set of aluminun slot mag wheels (ansen?) I polished these up to day, along with the teardown and inspection of the engine, with very promising results. The main and rod journal bearings were in great con;dition, and the engine was very clean overall, with very little timing chain stretch 8) needless to say, I think I stumbled upon a decent deal!

tore down the head completely today, thinking about doing a subtle port/polish... having a family business that's a body shop means I have most of the stuff to do it. Also, for anyone reading this, what are some opinions of engine colors? personally, I'm thinking an orange (hemi orange or a metallic orange I found) and black. the original blue just don't cut it for me... anyways, this is todays update.

haven't posted in a while, and in this case, its the 'no news is good news' about two weeks ago I was down in a town called Marshfield, Mo visiting some friends, when a guy turning in front of me stopped, and I did too, but the kid behind me didn't... in a 25mph zone he slid 44ft in a mercury sable, hitting me and pushing me into the first guy. needless to say, the dart took the brunt of the damage, collapsing the shock absorbers behind the rear bumper, and then taking out the rest of the squish on the body crumpling my quarter panels, trunk floor, rear wheel wells, twisting the body, bending the rear subframe, breaking my seat, and moving the engine until my radiator got ate by the fan.

needless to say, I was a bit livid, seeing how his car just had bumper and grill damage from what I could see. the insurance company payed me 6k, and then it cost me $800 to buy the car back. turns out he had rear ended another guy two weeks before that and had another wreck previously in the year.

the ironic part was, I was having carb probs the day before, and considered not going, and four days after the wreck, my OCG cam, lifters, pushrods, timing set, and cam bearings came in; the parts I had been needing to finish put my new motor together (thanks btw to DusterIdiot on helping me find a cam, and id tell you how great the engine is, but it will probably be a little while before it gets back together) right now, plans are find a reliable DD for 5200, (dodge magnum?  ) get the dart to a frame shop, get the new motor put together and tranny rebuilt, get new motor swapped and broke in, then pull it to do bodywork and repaint, along with minor cosmetic changes, and upgraded suspension, and then have it all put back together for the burnout contest on the last day of high school  so, let the fun begin! (again!)
