This happened before I had any manuals, and I saw no reason for the pump leak, but the previous owner had warned me about it, so maybe there was some pre-bent chassis parts!

You might be able to get the OEM 5/8" rotor pump out after removing the cover plate, it is pretty close. Pulling a 7/8" melling pump in the car requires that manuever after jacking it up to get it out...the M66HV pump is pretty much a pull the engine affair unless you let mongo pull it out... |
