I had also used the Pat Kelly calculator,,

on the piston recession,, are you sure you are at TDC ?

and be sure you are using the pistons that you will be running as there can be varation in compression height among piston manufacturers. The shop that did the block and head machine work took one of my OE piston pins and turned it down to make it a slip fit into the rod. After the cylinder bore work was done I was able to install the crank then check piston recession on bores 1 and 6 using the pistons I had for the re build, to get an accurate recession number for working the compression calculators.

Bottom end was reassembled with all the new parts for checking the deck height, both 1 and 6 were .200" on dial caliper and micrometer.

I just found my build sheet. My peanut head, never cut, valves not sunk measured 69 cc. Head volumes are all over the chart. You have to measure each part before you start. Also you need to measure the deck height with your piston rod combination before you cut your head.

HP do you have the head thickness measurement? I measured ~3.60" on both ends.

Thanks
John

no never measured it that way. If I get some time I will see if I can get the measurement.
