+1. Would the load of the trailer be pulled by the bumper shocks? I would be nervous that the shocks would pull apart under acceleration. Or did you weld the bumper shocks solid?

Sure thing. I disassembled them, sucked the bumpers in to the body to eliminate the plastic filler, and welded the shock assemblies solid. Otherwise the strain would all be on two 5/16" bolts!
