I contacted Spectra Tanks and they have 6 PNs for a-bodies. I did a quick search through their eCatalog and came up with some application notes in addition to Spectra's descriptions. Most tanks have a 2-1/4" filler hole ID. CR11A & CR11F 1963 to 1966. These 2 tanks are identical but CR11F has the grommet supplied with it. These are the only tank PNs with a 2" filler hole ID. No tank listings for 1960 to 1962 a-bodies but Spectra's catalog appears to have incomplete listings for 1963 & 1964 as well. CR11B & CR11C The seam weld is not bent exactly the same and the sending unit hole is not exactly at the same location. (very minor difference). You may very well say that they are pretty much the same. CR11B is listed for 1967 Valiants CR11C is listed for 1968 to 1970 (w/o evaporation control) Valiants. CR11D This tank has 4 vent pipes by the filler hole. CR11D is listed for 1970 (w/ evaporation control) to 1971 (early) Valiants. CR11E This tank has only 1 vent in the tank front portion. CR11E is listed for 1971 (late) to 1976 Valiants. Does anyone have any filler pipe grommet recommendations? |

You think CR11E could be used for efi with its one vent (return line) fitting? Prices? |

Rock Auto lists CR11E for $166.79. In my case, unless I change my filler tube, my only choices are CR11A & CR11F. They also offer a fuel sender with a 3/8" outlet and a fuel return. |

I welded a drag race sump on my stock tank with a frame mount Walbro pump, works great, you can here a little pump buzz, but nothing your radio won't cover up, sump has pipe threaded holes for feed & return fittings |

Mounted my Walbro 392 (?) pump like this, can't hear it at all, even with the engine off but the pump on:  If you're looking for the bracket, it's right there in that pair of 2" long low emissivity fuel hoses. Currently has about 3000 miles on it. I used the OE fuel tube for the return and ran the supply in 3/8" poly tubing. This is a 1st rev picture, in rev1.1 the near kink in the suction side was fixed using a 45° hose end. Rock Auto lists two different fuel sender/pick-ups for my '65 Valiant, one with a 5/16" supply and no return and the other with a 3/8" supply and a 5/16" return. The return has a 90° turn away from the pick-up inside the tank. Can't recall if left or right, but it wasn't down. |
