Here is what they look like on the on the engine side connector http://www.clipsandfasteners.com/Chrysl ... a16349.htm
http://www.clipsandfasteners.com/Ford_M ... a16342.htm
http://www.clipsandfasteners.com/Ford_O ... a20815.htm
I actually have all 3 of these but i cant remember if i used all three or just 1 or 2 sizes.
They are available thru NAPA but may be listed under ford.
I was able to take the terminal with me to match it up.
I did not do anything with the female side that's in the cab, but i'm sure something is available even if its a ford terminal.
A good crimper is essential i bought this and it worked real well.

and if your doin weatherpack terminals i used this one with great success.

Any other questions just ask.

Dave,,
I have the same weatherpac crimper that you show,, needs to run two crimping operations for each connector,, for the few I am doing, that is fine. I also have a ratcheting crimper for the standard connectors,,,

concerning adding wires to the oe firewall connector,, how did you complete the electrical circuit if terminals were only added to the engine side of the firewall connector?

I'm sorry I wasn't adding additional wire circuits just redoing the wire harness.
Now when I get around to redoing the dash gauges there will be additional circuits but should not be many.

How many additional wires do you have to run thru the firwall?
I know when I rewired my 86 2 years ago there were quite a few open cavities on the OEM bulk head connector.
Could you possibly run them thru there?

Dave
I recommend doing away with the OEM bulkhead connector altogether if possible. It is not sealed up from weather and notorious for developing high resistance and voltage loss. Had I known about these after market devices when restoring this car, I would have replaced mine. As it is I bypassed the bulkhead connector with all the heavy current wires.

I agree with you on older mopar's as i have rewired a 67 dart.
But the 86 had a completely different style connecter thats sealed much better and i found no corrosion in mine.
I also did add relay's for the headlight's.
Wish i had thought to move the heater blower resistor under the hood and add relays for it.
Dadtruck do you have pic of you connector, I redid wiring on 81 before but dont remember if the connector was old style or new.

I actually have the 83 D-150 connector apart,, as I am typing this,

the 83 connector, looks to not be water resistant from the engine side as the crimped ends of the terminals are visable from under the hood, however there is a weather barrier inside of the connector to protect the spade ends,,,does not look to be as robust as the weatherpac seals

I have the connector apart as I also have a complete under dash harness from an 86 D-150 that had factory AC and I was going to use the AC sections of the as the under dash AC wiring on the 83,,

However, looks like Chrysler made a change on how the terminals snap into the firewall connector. On the 83 the terminals are a 100% snap in,, on the 86 there is a white plastic insert in the dash side fire wall connector to secure the terminal along with a lock pin in the firewall housing,, regardless the 86 style terminal does not lock in at all into the 83 connector..

I'll get some photos and post em later today,,

I am back to running the lighter load components through the 22 pin 240 series connector, will run the AC / heater blower motor (30 amp draw) and the radio amplifyer (20 amp draw), through the fire wall on unbroken wires,,
I do have these nylon gromets to protect the wires from chaffing.

http://www.wiringproducts.com/3-8-nylon ... ieces.html

and here are photos of the 83 and 86 terminals as well as the dash side fire wall connector from an 83 and an 86
that is the same 83 terminal in both shots and two different 86 terminals that came out of one connector. The fire wall connector in a firewall is the 83, the loose one is the 86,, the white bars that help to retain the terminals is clearly present on the 86 and not on the 83.

I would take them to NAPA and see if they can match them up.
They were able to get me the male terminals i used.
They didnt have the ones i used in stock, and they didnt charge me shipping to bring them in to check them.
So hopefully they have the female ones for the 86 that you need.
If they do please list the part number here, I would deffinatly appreciate it.
Napa is not the cheapest place to buy the terminals so if you find ones that work see if they list an OEM Number in their catalogue that they are equivilent to so that we might be able to find them cheaper on the web.
Thanks

Dave

Have you tried to locate the correct terminals for the dash side of the 86 bulkhead connector?

Dave,
I have no need to as I am using the new 22 pin weatherpac connector to route the additional circuits.
