Mine was also a very nice car, I got as far as painting the doors, sort of a turquoise green, the doors looked great, the rest of the car grey primer, boy I wish I still had that car, the 68 was a GT 318 if I remember right, auto, center console, gold with a black vinyl top, you could fit a basket ball down the holes where the vinyl stopped but it was a real GT, I also had a 72, slant six car auto, I restored it from one end to another, rusty car, I put new quarters, trunk ect, paint was so deep you would swear you could stick your hand in it, I never thought to fit the trim that went around the windows before I painted it..........needless to say what a disappointment, a truck driver ended up buying it and took it to T.N I think, said he was going to put a B.B in it, I didnt want to know what happened with that one. Now that you are in contact with Charlie, you are in good hands. I highly recommend his Sanden compressor bracket kit for the slant six. I simply bolted it on and mounted the compressor onto it. Perfect fit. Charlie is very helpful and will give you good advice. Yep, I really like the '66 Dart. This is the third '66 I've had over the decades. First was a GT 273 4bbl 4-speed back when it was still in factory warranty. In the mid seventies I had a GT 273 2-bbl A/T. Wish I still had both of those, but the current one is kinda cool 'cause of the split exhaust manifold. Takes me back to high school. Most of the dual exhaust cars back then were 216 and 235 Chevys with a couple of flathead Plymouths thrown in. Jerry Yes I spoke with Charlie and things are coming together, thanks |
