Quote: Msd coil? I had 2 brand new msd coils fail. Start good idle good around town good. Get on highway for 4 or 5 miles , Coil gets hot and engine begins to miss.
hmmm you know what ive never considered that..... infact i believe the issue came after i put the new coil on. Im guna check that out. thinking outside the carb issue... i was so convinced, but i wouldnt be suprised. Ive had troubles tuning my motorcycle and i remember electrical issues sometimes can be masked by running the mixture richer and thinking a lean issue was the problem lol Thanks |

My cars daily driving and at the track use an Accel coil and have not had any problems for years of fun.-D.Idiot |

I spoke to MSD today and the tech suggested i keep the coil in the upright position instead of on its side which is how i had it mounted. He also said to just run the ballast resistor that came on the truck if the other one doesnt work. I never thought about it but i moved the location of the new coil to my fender on its side. I hoping that this simple fix is the problem. My idle however is still a bit poppy jason |
