Hang around with Slantzilla at a racing /swap meet and you will meet interesting people,, This time it was Jim Cox, of Cox Brothers Racing,, nice guy, was more than willing to share tales of slant six racing... Jim commented that he does miss the Slant Six racing community, I asked if he would be interested in attending the racing at Mountain Park Dragway this fall,, he said that is a possibility. http://www.flickr.com/photos/13718356@N ... 724805443/ |

Good seeing you and the crew today John. Thanks again for your hospitality. I am glad my buddy Radar gave me the tip on the valve cover. I would have never found Jim. |

It's kinda funny what you may find at swap meet. Like Jim Cox. Real nice guy and had some great stories - Big D could certainly appreciate since he has been around awhile. Lou, he mentioned your name and said it has been a couple three years and I think he would like to hear from ya. Zilla purposely misrepresented his arrival time so he could scoop up every last hyper pak at the show! John found a killer sloppy joe recipe and executed it to perfection. He also showed us a bit of architectural salvage - a huge beam that was a header for a wine press from the 30's. Came from a store his family had owned - very cool. Had the date and the family name hand carved into the face of the beam. Pics? Both Indiana Andys were there as well as Big D's personal body guards. Don't ask. My brother came and immediately formed a tag team wresting duo with "The D" complete with lots of smack! Also a huge mystery was solved. Started getting Hot Rod Mag. in the mail. I didn't sign up. After scratchin' my head for a week or two, seems that John was behind it. Latest issue was the 50th anniversary of the Hemi - great read. All in all, a great time and a special thanks to DadTruck for letting people of this type into his home! |

Greg and I share a nationality heritage,, check out the 'ko' at the end of the name..Greg's a fellow Slovenian,,, his homestead is located in Irwin PA, just across the mountain pass from Export PA where my mom was born. In my youth, on family vacations ( back in the 60's) we would stay at a hotel in Irwin,,I still remember blueberry pancakes at the Lamplighter Inn... Hail,, Tina Maze,, winner of two Gold Medals in womens skiing events for Slovenia in the 2014 Winter Olympics.. |

My apologies for not making the swap meet let alone being on the board in A while. I have not given up the slanted ways. As of a few weeks ago, I am now the newest union electrician for my company. I have moved to working a 21 turn schedule on C. Or 11p-7a. Training and studying what i can as i progress. Add to that Im still taking full time school. Math, history, and physics is not a good idea at once. Recently tested out of 8 additional classes to add to my transcripts. 3 weekends a month i have my kids, the other I have drill in kokomo. Id have stopped the weekend of 22-23rd Wayne but I had work at 11 that night so i chose a nap. Guess ill get off the soapbox here. Ill try to keep more tabs on whats new and going on w the community. On a positive note, Ol Blue rolled the odometer, not sure if its 100 or 200k but still rolled. Stay Slanted Pohlman. |
