That's assuming the proper size fuse is being used. I've seen too many people use a larger than required fuse to mask other issues, or because a "professional" said to. Better question is if the amp is 5000 max or rms. Mono block, dual channel, multiple channel, bridged, how many watts are the subs, 4 ohm, 2ohm, svc, dvc, are they gonna try to pull a full 5000w load? Again, too many variables to go by than just asking fuse size.

And yea a true 5000w system is gonna be on a whole nother playing field when it comes to wiring, installation, and insulation...

Ive got a 150 amp fuse running 1/0 wire to the capacitor. Then some solid copper 8 gauge to the amp. The amp is not a true 5000 watt, only about 350 to each sub rms. Im looking to upgrade soon. Its 2 channel by the way. I also added a 100 amp alternator, lights and subs pulled too much and made the stereo shut off at idle.
