It seems like this is more accurate with a stick shift. An auto really throws in more un controllable, and maybe hard to calculate variables.

The guy who was going to dyno my car years ago, before I got tired of waiting and took my car back was going to use a steady state dyno that somehow did not use acceleration. The wheels came off and the dyno hubs bolted to the axle. His big deal was looking for max hp at each rpm cell. Ideal Timing could be pin pointed. I was sorry he did not live up to his billing personally.
